The tile in it self has a very exclusive aspect regarding its actually cost, in many ways it is already a finish product just the square it self. I play with idea of the 2 and a half dimension, a space in between the flat and a volume. Trying to find an expression that create space in the space by folding the tiled wall around it self to reach a new resolution. In this manner the ceramic looses its intended value, but are been given a new one, an appearance that for me speaking more about architecture and graphics. I have been working in neighborhood of Wittevrouwenveld, an area located in the northeast part of Maastricht. Besides the struggle of ignorance, crime and poverty this is area that will be demolished in the coming year, a consequent of a the new tunnel con¬struction, a decision that will change and effect a lot of people’s life, good and bad. In my design proposal I use the facades of the demolishing properties as a place for communication, turning the building inside out, and give the opportunity to the inhabitants to express their opin¬ion about life in the area. My ambition for the interventions was to create an act that would open up for discussion and debate whether Maastricht supports their culture range in a constructive way. How did this happen. With this project, I wanted to react on the sugar coma Sweden now finds themselves in, overwhelmed and seduced by the sweet temptations. The white suger have bome as white and danger as the coke The idea was mainly to create something that asked for reflection and self-conscious, rather then prohibiting and judge. I believe humor is a great tool for entrance complex subjects and make them more manageable and easier to pursuit. Joking also has a disarming effect on moralizing, instead of pointing with the whole hand the subject is lifted up for a discussion The glass bowl is part of a collection out of three unique hand blown forms, where each bowl is distinguished from the other, just like the body itself. Här har jag arbetat med proportioner och objektens förhållande till varandra. En viktig funktion var också att glas och skålar lätt kunde staplas i varandra. Serien är form blåsta i en trä form, en gammal teknik som fungerar bra när produktionen inte upptas till mer än ett 20 tal, då formen därefter är utbränd. För att skapa ett bra grepp samt ett element för en starkare personlig prägel, valde jag att använda mig ut av ett hölje gjort ut av skinn och läder rämmar. This relationship is dynamic and equal and it is made up of many strands, something that makes it complexed and challanging. One could say that this is a place where personal judgments can be formed beyond stereotypes and where a relationship of trust can be restored and refined. This parting of the comfort zone sets the rules of behavior on to a state where our personality converts into something general. A silent agreement starts to appear and the public etiquettes suppose to be pursued. I wanted to expand this perception of public behavior by putting a spotlight on to our collective adjustments.
